Post-Workout Quick and Easy Sweet Treats!

After today’s special Labor Day class, I handed out a post-workout snack to everyone in attendance.  When I was in Modesto for a kettlebell juggling class, one of my fellow instructors handed them out to us and we quickly devoured all of them.  I told the class that I would post the recipe today, so here it is!

First off, the snacks I handed out were little round almond butter balls. They are quick, easy, and delicious. They also provide you with some good post-workout nutrition.

The recipe is as follows;

-Organic Oats
-Almond Butter
-Dark chocolate chips

Chop up the dry oats in a blender (we use a nutri-bullet) for a few seconds.

Then you mix the oats with the almond butter, whole dark chocolate chips, and walnuts. Take a portion of the mixture and roll it up into a bite sized ball. Place the balls on a tray, stick them in the fridge, and let them be for an hour or so.

That’s it! Seriously. It is that easy. The ratio of almond butter to oats is completely up to you. If you like them on the drier side, then add more oats. If you want a little more moisture, you can always add in a few drops of honey (but not to many drops!) 🙂 The almond butter we had in the house was already sweetened with honey, so we didn’t add any extra.

I prefer eating them a little on the warmer side, so I let them sit out on the counter for a few minutes before I eat them.
